Peacemaker Season 2 is hours away from its long-awaited premiere on HBO Max, so make sure you know exactly what time it drops on streaming and its full release schedule.
Almost four years after his debut in The Suicide Squad, John Cena’s Peacemaker is arguably one of the most important characters in James Gunn’s DCU. He appeared in Superman in a hilarious cameo, and the second season of his show will “set up the rest” of the franchise.
Season 2 will deal with the fallout of Project Butterfly and Adebayo exposing Amanda Waller, with Peacemaker hoping to be seen as a proper superhero in the eyes of the world (and, more importantly, the Justice Gang). Let’s just say, things don’t go to plan.
Gunn even dropped Superman on digital early so everyone could see it before Peacemaker, so it’s clearly an important entry in the DCU – which means you shouldn’t miss it.
The first episode of Peacemaker Season 2 will premiere at 6pm PT/9pm ET on Thursday, August 21.
If you cast your mind back to 2022, the first season dropped on HBO Max at 12am PT/3am ET. Excluding Netflix shows, which almost always stream at the same time, the 6pm PT/9pm ET window has become increasingly common, as it means US viewers don’t need to stay up late or risk seeing spoilers in the morning.
Alas, that has a knock-on effect for fans in other territories. If you’re not based in or around the US, you’ll probably have to stay awake past your bedtime or watch it as soon as you wake up (if not, you’ll need to mute everything on your social media platforms). Where to watch Peacemaker Season 2
Peacemaker Season 2 will be available exclusively on HBO Max in the US and other territories where the streaming service has launched.
In Canada, you can watch it on Crave, while UK viewers will be able to watch it via Now TV or Sky Max, and fans in India will need to sign up for JioHotstar.
How many episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 are there?
There are eight episodes in Peacemaker Season 2, the same amount as Season 1.
Gunn has directed three episodes in the new season: Episodes 1, 6, and 8. “It can be a little bit difficult at times to turn it over,” he said during a press event.
“I originally planned to shoot all the episodes, but then I got hired as the head of the studio and couldn’t do that. So it was hard, but I took the three that I thought were the most difficult. You’ll see six and eight are my two favorite episodes of the season.”
Journalists also haven’t been sent Episodes 6-8 in advance, with Gunn wanting to protect their secrets before they air. “I really don’t want what’s in those last three episodes to be spoiled… I won’t even let my publicist see them,” he told Brandon Davis.
Peacemaker Season 2 release schedule
Unlike Alien: Earth and other shows released this year, Peacemaker Season 2 isn’t debuting with two episodes, with Gunn sticking to a one-per-week schedule. Check it out below:

On Threads, Gunn explained why he didn’t want to release the entire season for people to binge. “The anticipation and conversation around dropping an episode week to week is part of the fun,” he wrote.
