Stranger Things might have concluded with Season 5, Episode 8, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about a secret instalment via theory that’s come to be known as ‘Conformity Gate.’
That rumor was widely debunked, and Episode 9 didn’t appear when it was supposed to, on January 7, 2026.
But there’s one last Stranger Things treat heading to streaming, in the shape of a wide-ranging documentary that goes behind-she-scenes on Season 5…
One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 hits Netflix on Monday, January 12, at 12am PT/3am ET.

What is the Stranger Things documentary about?
One Last Adventure details the making of Stranger Things Season 5, spotlighting co-creators the Duffer brothers in the writer’s room, then walking fans through every aspect of production, from scripts, budgets, and sets, to stunts, makeup, and special effects.
The documentary’s official synopsis reads as follows: “A decade after rewiring pop culture, Stranger Things returns for its final chapter. One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5 is a sweeping behind-the-scenes chronicle that follows the cast, creators, and crew as they bring the final season to life – and say goodbye to the show that changed them forever.”
While here’s what Ross and Matt Duffer said about the doc: “Growing up in Durham, North Carolina, we dreamed of becoming filmmakers – but Hollywood felt impossibly far away. Everything changed when we watched the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Lord of the Rings – on-the-ground films that showed the real nuts and bolts of how a massive production actually gets made.
