What happened in The Night Agent Season 2?

In The Night Agent Season 2 finale, the team manages to stop a chemical weapon from going off in New York, while Peter gets his next mission.

Once the team secures the KX canisters at the UN, they follow Markus – and the one remaining canister – to an apartment building where they also prevent that from being triggered, before Peter shoots Markus dead.

Peter is then placed in custody by Catherine for appearing to help Solomon and Jacob. In response – and sometime later – he confesses all into a tape, much like his father before him.

Jacob meets with Governor Hagen, who is now running for President, and gives him a UN case file that incriminates his opponent Patrick Knox. Knox then drops out of the race, giving Hagen a free run at the White House.

Catherine tells Peter that his father was selling government intel but had his reasons, and now it’s his turn. Catherine explains that Peter has an opportunity to “expose” and “destroy” Jacob, and if he’s successful, she will wipe his slate clean.
