The patients are piling up, tempers are fraying, and we’re only two episodes into The Pitt Season 2, so here’s everything you need to know about when, where, and at what time to watch Episode 3.

The Pitt Season 1 quickly became both a critical and commercial smash in early 2025, and by the end of the year, the medical drama had won a truck-load of awards.

Less than a year on, The Pitt Season 2 is already in full swing on HBO Max, with events playing out on July 4, and tension mounting between Dr. Robby, and his temporary replacement Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.

For a recap of Season 2 Episode 2, scroll to the bottom of this page, while below you’ll find all streaming details for Episode 3.

There’s not long to wait, as The Pitt Season 2 Episode 3 drops on HBO Max on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET.

As it’s an HBO Max original, the only way to watch it right now is on streaming. Season 1 aired on linear TV in December 2025 on TNT, but there’s no news right now on whether the same situation will unfold with the second chapter.

If you’re outside the US or any region that doesn’t offer HBO Max, there is a way to watch it: by using a VPN. You’ll still need a subscription to the streaming service, but you can do this by using a gift card to pay for it or via on-demand platforms such as Amazon Prime.

For those of you using this method, we’ve listed several other time zones below so you know when to tune in:

  • 2am UK (January 16)
  • 3am Central European Time (January 23)
  • 7:30am India Standard Time (January 23)

What happened in Season 2 Episode 2?

The Pitt Season 2 Episode 2 focused on 8am to 9am during a busy July 4 holiday, and sees Dr. Robby and Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi continuing to disagree over training methods, and the use of AI in the department.

Ongoing stories concern the mystery deepening around the baby left in hospital, while a social worker arrives to speak to the father of the young girl with injuries all over her body.

The nun with the weeping eye tests positive for gonorrhoea, while doctors crack open the cast on the arm of the homeless man, and find it filled with maggots.

In terms of new patients, there’s a man whose arm is smashed by a roof tile, a woman who glued her eye closed with super-glue, a patient whose arm is burned by grease from a griddle, and a guy with broccoli trapped in his gullet. Oh, and an erect penis that won’t go down.

As for the doctors, King has an action-packed hour, worrying about her forthcoming deposition, then being flirted with by a patient, who suddenly knocks her over when the police arrive looking for him, resulting in King banging her head.

Between his clashes with Baran Al-Hashimi, it’s revealed that Robby is having a secret romance with the hospital’s case manager, Noelle Hastings, a story that will doubtless develop over the course of the season.
