Dr. Jack Abbot is making his triumphant return in The Pitt Season 2 Episode 7. So you don’t miss a thing, here’s its exact release date and time on HBO Max.
It’s been a chaotic Fourth of July shift for the staff at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center so far; Dr. Robby’s butted heads with newcomer Dr. Al-Hashimi, they’re facing a Code Black situation, and, in one of the show’s most tragic scenes yet, Louie died.
But there’s no rest for the wicked, with the Season 2 Episode 7 preview showing more diverted patients showing up, while Dana is set to walk Emma through the most challenging of cases.
And that’s before we even get to Dr. Abbot’s return. So, here’s exactly when you can watch the next episode.
There’s not long to wait, as The Pitt Season 2 Episode 7 drops on HBO Max on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET.
As it’s an HBO Max original, the only way to watch it right now is on streaming. Season 1 aired on linear TV in December 2025 on TNT, but there’s no news right now on whether the same situation will unfold with the second chapter.
If you’re outside the US or any region that doesn’t offer HBO Max, there is a way to watch it: by using a VPN. You’ll still need a subscription to the streaming service, but you can do this by using a gift card to pay for it or via on-demand platforms such as Amazon Prime.

What happened in Season 2 Episode 6?
The Pitt Season 2 Episode 6 deals with the immediate aftermath of Louie Cloverfield’s collapse, and despite Dr. Robby and Dr. Langdon’s efforts, he dies early in the hour. The loss hits the department hard, even though the Fourth of July shift continues without pause.
The episode opens with Robby and Langdon attempting to stabilize Louie following the emergency at the end of Season 2 Episode 5. CPR and resuscitation efforts fail, and he is pronounced dead.
His passing affects several members of staff who have treated him multiple times over the years. Emma assists Dana with post-mortem care, marking another difficult learning moment during her first major shift.
Elsewhere, the ER remains overwhelmed due to the nearby hospital closure, with diverted patients continuing to flood in. Robby and Al-Hashimi continue to clash over treatment decisions, particularly involving a patient from prison who’s presenting with signs of severe malnutrition.
Although tensions between Langdon and Robby aren’t fully resolved, a touching moment sees Langdon making amends to Dana, apologizing to her for his actions. “You can check me off your list, kid. We’re good,” she replies.
By the end of the episode, the department has little time to process Louie’s death as new emergencies arrive, reinforcing the real-time structure of the season.
In Episode 7, the pressure is set to escalate further. Dana will be treating a sexual assault victim, Dr. Jack Abbot is returning to assist with an injured officer, and Mohan will be trying to prevent an uninsured patient from being discharged prematurely.
