Wonder Man is a new Marvel show that’s quite unlike any that have gone before, so here’s details of when, where, and at what time you can check it out this curious departure.

Created by writer Stan Lee and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, the Wonder Man character first appeared in the pages of The Avengers #9 in October 1946.

The alter-ego of Simon Williams, Wonder Man was introduced as a supervillain whose power is the ability to harness ionic energy. But having fought ‘Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,’ he was reborn a hero, and (largely) remains a good guy to this day.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon Williams in the new Wonder Man series on Disney+, though it’s a meta-textual take on the character, that’s as much Hollywood satire as superhero adventure, and you can find our full release guide below…

Wonder Man drops on Disney+ today, January 27, 2026 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET.

That’s the US date and time, while for most international territories, it hits on January 28, with some key numbers below:

  • 11pm Brazil
  • 2am UK (January 28)
  • 3am Central European Time (January 28)
  • 7:30am India Standard Time (January 28)
  • 1pm Australia (January 28)
  • 3pm New Zealand (January 28)

How many episodes are there?

There are 8 episodes in Wonder Man Season 1, and they are dropping simultaneously, so you can binge it all. The titles of each episode have also been released:

What is Wonder Man about?

Wonder Man is quite unlike any Marvel movie or show released thus far, because rather than being about the superhero, it revolves around an actor playing that superhero.

Abdul-Mateen plays Simon Williams, who in this iteration is an unemployed thespian with secret superpowers and a love of the fictional Wonder Man character.

A chance meeting with Trevor Slattery – aka the artist formerly known as Mandarin – results in Williams learning about a Wonder Man movie in production, landing an audition, and eventually landing the role.

So the show journeys down two paths, one of which sees Williams struggling to control his super-abilities, while the other focusses on him playing a character who possesses similar powers.

The show currently has a score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, though we weren’t quite as convinced, writing in our Wonder Man review that “in spite of some committed performances and a few good laughs, it’s a muddled affair that fails to fully take flight until the very end.”
