Doom is back. The latest entry in the classic FPS franchise goes medieval, serving as a prequel to the last couple of entries, so if you can’t wait to slay demons again, here’s exactly when Doom: The Dark Ages releases.
While unmistakably Doom, The Dark Ages overhauls the format by giving Doomslayer a shield and dropping him in a sci-fi and medieval fantasy mashup.
It officially arrives on May 14 in the US, but like many games nowadays, you can play a couple of days early by buying the Premium Edition.

Doom: The Dark Ages early access goes live on Monday, May 12, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. If you’re outside the US, you’ll likely need to wait until May 13.

Does the New Zealand trick work?
No, you can’t use the New Zealand trick to play early. This trick only works when a game releases at midnight local time (letting you take advantage of the time difference), but Doom releases at the same time no matter where you are in the world.
How to preload
You can preload the new Doom game now, whether you’ve pre-ordered or are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber.
If you’ve pre-ordered the game, simply find the game in your library and hit the preload button. If you have Game Pass, you’ll need to find Doom: The Dark Ages Standard Edition on the Game Pass library, then hit Pre-Install.

The Doom: The Dark Ages Standard Edition is 69.54 GB for PC Game Pass, while the Premium Edition is 86.66 GB.
