Shrouded Sky is the next major update coming to Arc Raiders, bringing a new Arc threat and changes to the game’s maps.
Arc Raiders got off a strong start when it arrived at the end of last year, and it continued its success into 2026. The acclaimed extraction shooter has maintained a healthy player count, with thousands of players still logging in every day.
To keep up the momentum, Emabrk Studios has major updates planned for the first four months of the year, starting with Headwinds in January.
Next up on the roadmap is the Shrouded Sky update, so here’s everything we know about it.
When does Shrouded Sky release?
There is currently no official release date for the Shrouded Sky update, but we know it’ll arrive sometime in February. Arc Raiders usually drops its patches on Tuesdays, meaning that February 24 is the most likely date, but this hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
Map changes
This update is set to bring the first “map update” we’ve seen in the game to date. It hasn’t been confirmed exactly what this will include, but we expect the layout of certain maps to be altered slightly, possibly adding new POIs or tweaking existing ones.
There will also be a new map condition to contend with, joining the likes of Electromagnetic Storm and Lush Blooms as modifiers to the weather or loot on offer.
New Arc threat
The other big change confirmed is a new “Arc threat,” although again, we’re still waiting to find out what this means.
It could mean the introduction of a completely new enemy type, as the only one we’ve received so far is the Shredders that roam Stella Montis. Alternatively, we might also get variants of existing Arc with unique weapons and traits, as the devs have previously expressed a desire to shake up the way players deal with familiar enemies.
Also, design lead Virgil Watkins has teased that Shredders will one day escape Stella Montis and take over other maps, so this is another possibility.
What else to expect
On top of everything mentioned above, the update will also bring the following:
- New Project
- New Raider Deck
- Second Expedition Window
- Balancing changes
- Bug fixes
