Looking for your next K-drama obsession? Dear X is here to fill that void, with the first four episodes dropping at once. But it’s switching up its release schedule, so be sure to find out how many episodes to expect next, as well as their release date and time.

2025 is yet another great year for K-drama content, whether that be the third and final season of Hwang Dong-hyuk’s record-breaking Squid Game, the explosive debut of Tempest, or the new romance hit My Youth.

But if it’s dark thrillers you’re after, Dear X is well worth your time. Based on Vanziun’s webtoon of the same name, the series centers on Baek Ah-jin (Kim Yoo-jung), a sociopath with a dark past who leverages her charm and good looks to climb her way to the top.

Alongside Yoo-jung, the cast is packed full of recognizable names, including Kim Ji-hoon, Hwang In-youp, and Lee Yul-eum. Episodes 1-4 dropped last week, with the next batch due soon.

Episodes 5 and 6 of Dear X will drop on November 13, 2025 at 6pm KST in Korea and approximately 6.30pm KST internationally. That’s around 4.30am ET and 1.30am PT, but be aware that there could be a slight delay.

We’ve listed other timezones below so you know when to tune in:

  • 6.30am Brazil
  • 9.30am UK
  • 11.30am Central European Summer Time
  • 3pm India Standard Time
  • 8.30pm Australia
  • 10.30pm New Zealand

How to watch it

If you’re in the US, the best way to stream Dear X is on Viki, a streaming service dedicated to Asian TV shows and movies with English subtitles.

According to reports, Viki is the go-to platform for the Americas, as well as Europe, Oceania, and India. Right now, you can watch the first two episodes for free, and get a Viki pass for the rest.

The prices are currently $7.99 for Viki Pass Standard and $11.99 for Viki Pass Plus. But there is another way to watch Dear X: by using a VPN

You see, the new K-drama is dropping on various platforms across the world, including HBO Max in the Asia Pacific region, on Starzplay in the Middle East and North Africa, and on Disney+ in select countries including Japan.

So, if you already have a subscription to one of these services, all you need to do is login to your VPN, set it to the relevant country, and watch away.

For instance, if you have HBO Max, set your VPN to one of the following nations: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, or Thailand. Then login to HBO Max and head to Dear X.

But if K-drama is your jam, Viki could be the best bet. Not only is it the official US streaming home for Dear X but there’s also a wealth of content from all different genres to enjoy.

What happened in Episodes 1-4?

So far in Dear X, we’ve gotten to know about the life of Baek Ah‑jin (Kim Yoo‑jung), who managed to escape a traumatizing childhood and launch herself into stardom. How? Well, firstly, she’s beautiful and gets noticed wherever she goes.

But secondly (and more significantly) is that due to her troubled upbringing, Ah‑jin is a sociopath. She has no trouble manipulating everyone around her in order to get what she wants.

She’s always got the help of her step brother Yoon Jun-seo (Kim Young-dae), who will stop at nothing to protect her.

Episode 1 demonstrates this by going back in time to when Ah‑jin is in high school. Her rival, Shim Sung-hee (Kim Yi-kyung), tries to expose her dark past, but Ah-jin bites back in brutal fashion.

The second episode shows her gaining admission to her dream law school, only for her father to reenter her life and derail her ambitions. But as you should know by now, Ah-jin always has an ace up her sleeve.

In Episode 3, with her law school hopes crushed, Ah-jin takes a job at a café and uses her new social leverage to begin executing her master plan. The question is, how long can she keep this balancing act up?

By the end of Episode 4, Ah-jin is said to be a “rising star” and an “up-and-coming icon.” But we see Choi Jeong-ho (Kim Ji-hoon) watching one of her movies from prison with a look of rage across his face (and understandably so, given she’s the reason he’s locked up).

So, we can expect Ah-jin’s rise to fame to be explored in Episodes 5-6, and the struggles she’ll no doubt face from past adversaries.
