Dear X Episodes 5-6 have arrived, showing Baek Ah-jin entering a new era of her life as an actress and model (but she’s still up to her old tricks). But with a cliffhanger ending, you’ll no doubt be wondering when Episodes 7-8 will arrive, so here are all the details.

Based on Vanziun’s webtoon of the same name, the new TV show centers on Baek Ah-jin (Kim Yoo-jung), a sociopath with a dark past who leverages her charm and good looks to climb her way to the top.

Alongside Yoo-jung, the cast is packed full of big names, including Kim Young-dae as Yoon Jun-seo, Ah-jin’s ride-or-die friend. In the latest batch of episodes, we’re also introduced to Hwang In-youp’s idol-turned-actor Heo In-gang, as well as Lee Yul-eum as Ah-jin’s rival, Im Re-na.

The Dear X K-drama has reached the midway point, but the release times vary depending on where you are in the world, so be sure to keep tabs on when to expect Part 3. Warning: spoilers for Episodes 5-6 ahead!

Episodes 7 and 8 of Dear X will drop on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 6pm KST in Korea and approximately 6.30pm KST internationally. That’s around 4.30am ET and 1.30am PT, but be aware that there could be a slight delay.

For instance, Episodes 5-6 were due to release at this time on November 13, but they actually landed on the Viki streaming service at approximately 7am ET in the US.

Release times may vary slightly by region, but new episodes will consistently arrive on Thursdays – it’s just that they might show up a few hours later than their reported 4.30am ET/1.30am PT release time.

How to watch it

If you’re in the US, the best way to stream Dear X is on Viki, a streaming service dedicated to Asian TV shows and movies with English subtitles.

According to reports, Viki is the go-to platform for the Americas, as well as Europe, Oceania, and India. Right now, you can watch the first two episodes for free, and get a Viki pass for the rest.

The prices are currently $7.99 for Viki Pass Standard and $11.99 for Viki Pass Plus. But there is another way to watch Dear X: using a VPN

You see, the new K-drama is dropping on various platforms across the world, including HBO Max in the Asia Pacific region, on Starzplay in the Middle East and North Africa, and on Disney+ in select countries including Japan.

So, if you already have a subscription to one of these services, all you need to do is login to your VPN, set it to the relevant country, and watch away.

For instance, if you have HBO Max, set your VPN to one of the following nations: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. Then login and head to Dear X.

But if K-drama is your jam, Viki could be the best bet. Not only is it the official US streaming home but there’s a wealth of content from all different genres to enjoy.

What happened in Episodes 5-6?

Throughout Dear X Part 2, Ah-jin’s past comes back to haunt her as she rises to stardom, but Jun-seo and Kim Jae-oh (Kim Do-hoon) once again team up to protect her at all costs. However, by the end of Episode 6, it looks like Jun-seo might finally be waking up to Ah-jin’s manipulation.

Dear X’s latest chapter kicks off with Ah-jin’s career taking off. Once again, she faces bullying, this time from Re-na, who is clearly jealous of her beauty and skills. Ah-jin uses her tactics to dig up dirt on Re-na, while also setting her sights on Re-na’s ex, In-gang.

She realizes she can kill two birds with one stone if she dates In-gang: he’s a great “stepping stone” to climb higher in the ranks of stardom, but their partnership would also anger Re-na.

Inspector Park (Shin Moon-Sung) – who still believes Ah-jin is the one who murdered her father – comes back to haunt her, threatening to destroy her career. But Ah-jin is always one step ahead, with her henchmen setting out to silence Park.

Finally, she gets everything she wants: the rumors about her past are quashed, and she secures a kiss from In-gang. But as for Jun-seo, he gets into a fight with passersby who disrespect Ah-jin.

As he lays on the ground, he sees flashbacks of his upbringing with Ah-jin, before hearing her voice in his head saying she needs his help falling in love with In-gang. Could this mean he’s finally starting to realize Ah-jin has just been using him this whole time?

Some fans certainly seem to think so, with one writing on Reddit, “In this last episode, she manipulated everyone, even Jun-seo, but she went too far this time. Jun-seo thought he had a special relationship with her, but I’m afraid he’s just realized she’s been manipulating him all along…

“We don’t want anything bad to happen to her, but we can’t condone her actions; that’s the whole ambiguity of this series. Now, will Jun-seo continue to support her, or will he confront her? Because he knows everything about her.”

Another predicts even worse times ahead for Re-na, stating that she has “no idea who she’s dealing with… no clue that Ah-Jin is someone capable of ruining a person’s life before that person even sees it coming. At this point, I don’t think anything good is waiting for her, if she keeps this conflict up.”
