Chapter 7 Season 2 is the next major update coming to Fortnite, and leaks have already revealed some of what to expect, including the new theme.
Every Fortnite season comes with its own unique vibe, which impacts the look of the map, the weapons on offer, and many of the mechanics you can use. In 2025 alone, we’ve seen entire updates based on superheroes, a bug invasion, and even The Simpsons.
Chapter 7 kicked off with the Pacific Break season, but the next update isn’t too far away. So, here’s everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 so far.
When does Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 start?
The Chapter 7 Season 2 update is due to arrive on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, according to the current Battle Pass timer shown in-game.
However, this goes against the trend of new seasons arriving on weekends, so there’s every chance that this could be moved nearer the time. Epic Games usually locks in a concrete date in the weeks leading up to the update.
Theme leaked
According to leaks, the new season will feature a Norse mythology theme. This hasn’t been officially confirmed by Epic Games, but there have been rumors and hints found in the files for many weeks at this point.
If this turns out to be true, it could function much like the Myths and Mortals theme from Chapter 5 Season 2, which focused on Greek gods. This saw the map divided into different regions based on gods, from Zeus’ Mount Olympus to the Underworld guarded by Hades and Cerberus.
We could see something similar this time around, only with the likes of Odin, Thor, and Freya roaming the map, and POIs based on realms like Midgard, Asgard, and Niflheim.
Ice King Boss leaked
A leak from ‘Loolo_WRLD’ also revealed that an Ice King could appear on the map as a boss fight. Bosses have become a major part of Fortnite in recent years, as they’re often tied to storyline Quests and drop crucial items like Mythic weapons or Medallions.
Little else is known about the character or whereabouts on the map they will show up, but the name strongly suggests there will be at least one snowy region.
Of course, this is all based on leaks and nothing has been officially announced yet. We’ll be sure to update this page with more details
