If you thought you only had a few hours to wait until South Park Season 27 Episode 3, hold your horses – there’s been an unexpected delay, so here’s exactly when you can watch it.
Krypto the Superdog gets shot dead, Mr. Mackey joins ICE, and Cartman becomes a “master debater”… we are, of course, talking about the latest episode of South Park.
In just two episodes of the record-breaking new season from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, they’ve taken shots at just about everyone, including the literal president, Donald Trump (and his sidekick JD Vance).
We were waiting with bated breath to see what goes down next, but there’s been another delay, so here’s everything you need to know.
When is South Park Season 27 Episode 3 out?
South Park Season 27 Episode 3 was due to release on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. But like Episode 2, there’s going to be a week-long delay, so it will now drop on Wednesday, August 20 instead.
So, the third episode of the latest chapter will air at 10pm ET/9pm CT on Comedy Central. It will then be available for streaming on Paramount Plus on Thursday, August 21 at 6am ET/5am CT.
In its place, Comedy Central is hosting a full day of reruns, with classic episodes that started at 9am ET on August 13 and will continue throughout the day, culminating in Season 1 Episode 1, ‘Cartman Gets an Anal Probe’ at its usual 10pm slot.
South Park Season 27 delay explained
There are a couple of reasons for the Episode 3 delay, the main one being that August 13 marks exactly 28 years since South Park premiered on Comedy Central. As such, the network has cleared its schedule to celebrate the occasion.
This also gives Parker and Stone more time to work on the next episode. You see, the long-running series has always been made on an ultra-fast turnaround timeframe, with episodes written, animated, and voiced in just a matter of days.
This allows them to respond in real time to current events, but it also means delays aren’t unusual. We saw this happen with Season 27 Episode 2, which arrived a week after it was originally planned.
One thing that likely won’t have had an impact is the backlash from the Trump administration (it’s hardly the first time Parker and Stone have come under fire).
While some, including JD Vance, insist they’re in on the joke, Kristi Noem slammed the creators for mocking her in the latest episode.
“It’s so lazy to make fun of women for how they look. Only the liberals and the extremists do that,” she said. Noem sidestepped the fact that the episode depicted her shooting every dog she came across (a reference to her admission that she shot her own pet dog as it was naughty).
The White House previously released a statement slamming South Park for its Trump PSA (which showed the POTUS’s “teen-tiny penis”), describing the series as irrelevant.
At Comic-Con 2025, Parker responded to the criticism with a deadpan stare, saying, “We’re terribly sorry.” The South Park creators went on to describe how they convinced the producers to avoid blurring the realistic penis in the show.
What will Episode 3 be about?
Since South Park is yet to release a teaser trailer for Season 27 Episode 3, we can’t be certain right now – but there’s been an interesting update to the Wikipedia page.
An unknown user added the next episode to the listing, claiming it’s titled ‘The Life of a Broncos Fan’. The description stated, “After seeing his family root for the Kansas City Chiefs, mainly because of Taylor Swift, Randy builds a man cave and starts a club for dissatisfied Broncos fans.”
This wouldn’t be unusual for the show. Parker and Stone are both Broncos fans in real life, as are many South Park residents, with the football team being referenced multiple times over the years.
However, just moments later, it was changed to the following description: “When a young boy with autism moves to the South Park Elementary fourth grade class, Cartman cracks a scheme to pass his maths quiz.”
With such swift changes from an unverified source, and the fact that the episode is still in production, it’s safe to say we can take these listings with a huge pinch of salt. We’ll update this post as and when new details arrive.
