Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3 has just landed on Netflix, and if you’ve already binge-watched the whole thing, you might be wondering when Season 4 will arrive – and we have some good news.
For fans of Virgin River, the TV show has been a blessing. Not only do the shows crossover in terms of tone, but both are based on Robyn Carr novels, are CTV/CW co-productions, and have executive producer Roma Roth involved.
Sullivan’s Crossing focuses on neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan as she returns to her childhood home in rural Canada after a crisis in Boston, where she finds herself reckoning with her past, present, and future.
There’s drama, there’s romance, and there’s plenty of stunning scenery. If you’re wondering what’s next for the show, here’s what we know about Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4.
When is Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 out?
Ahead of the Season 3 finale, The CW announced that Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 will premiere in 2026, which isn’t too long to wait. There’s no exact release date just yet, but we can expect that in due course.
According to reports, filming kicked off in Halifax, Nova Scotia in August 2025 and is expected to conclude on November 25, meaning everything’s on track.
Season 4 will consist of 10 episodes. When it was renewed in July, The CW President Brad Schwartz told Deadline that it was an “easy” decision given the show’s success, not only on linear television but also on Netflix, which owns the streaming rights for the show in the US.
Season 3 landed on the streaming service on August 11, a month after it aired in the US on The CW.
What will Season 4 be about?
While we’re yet to get an official synopsis, fans can expect Season 4 to follow-up on the various threads of the third chapter, the biggest being the revelation that Maggie is married – and it’s not to Cal.
You see, up until this point, Maggie was undecided about whether to stay in Timberlake due to the lack of job opportunities in town, but she was torn due to her relationship with Cal. In the Season 3 finale, Maggie makes her mind up.
She chooses to stay in Timberlake with Cal and open up her own medical practice. End of story, right? Well, no – this is Sullivan’s Crossing we’re talking about.
Right at the end, Liam shows up and reveals he was far more than a “summer fling” – he’s Maggie’s husband. The episode ends there, meaning we’ll have to wait for Season 4 to see how this pans out and what Cal thinks of the whole thing.
Speaking with Collider ahead of this reveal, showrunner Roma Roth said, “There’s never a dull moment at Sullivan’s Crossing. A romance drama series needs to have push and pull between your characters… we’re going to have a pretty big shoe drop at the end of the season that we’ll get to see play out in Season 4.”
Who’s in the cast?
The usual cast members will be back for Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4, including Morgan Kohan as Maggie and Chad Michael Murray as Cal. Others you can expect to see are:
- Scott Patterson as Sully
- Tom Jackson as Frank
- Andrea Menard as Edna
- Allan Hawco as Andrew
- Marcus Rosner as Liam
