Every Call of Duty game in recent years has had a multiplayer beta, so even though we haven’t had official confirmation for Black Ops 7 yet, leaks have revealed when we can expect it.
We don’t have a date for the next CoD game, but we know it’s going to feature a campaign set in 2035 that acts as a sequel to Black Ops 2, multiplayer, and round-based Zombies.
While the official reveal is set for Gamescom Opening Night Live in August, the Call of Duty Next event is reportedly back, and the beta kicks off shortly after.
The Black Ops 7 beta is set to take place at the end of September, according to reliable leaker TheGhostOfHope. The most likely date would be the weekend of September 26, but we’ll need to wait for official details to confirm.
CoD Next is when the game gets fully revealed alongside live gameplay from invited influencers, and last year, it took place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, with the Early Access beta kicking off on Friday, August 30.
How to get beta access
If Activision follow the usual format, there will be two BO7 betas: the first will be the Early Access beta, then the Open Beta will be the weekend after.
To get into the Early Access beta, you’ll need to preorder the game or be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber. Then, as you’d expect, the Open Beta will be available to everyone.
What to expect
The Black Ops 7 beta will let you try out multiplayer, featuring a handful of maps, weapons, and Operators.
Last year, the beta featured eight of the 16 multiplayer maps alongside several weapons, Perks, Equipment, and Scorestreaks, and we expect Black Ops 7’s beta to be much the same.
There were also several rewards to earn that carried into the full game, including Emblems, Calling Cards, Operator skins, and Blueprints.
