When is The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Episode 9 on Hulu?

You’re not going to want to miss The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Episode 9, ‘Execution’, so here’s exactly what time to expect it on Hulu, as well as details on the upcoming episodes.

Given Season 6 is the last ever chapter of the Hulu series, these final episodes are significant. Up until now, Commander Lawrence and Serena have been heading up Gilead reforms via New Bethlehem, but the former has switched sides after realizing his fellow High Commanders are using him to lure US refugees back.

As for June, she’s been working with Luke, Moira, and Tuello to enact Mayday and the US government-in-exile’s plan to take down Gilead. Although their dry run at Jezebels didn’t go to plan, June and Lawrence joined forces and devised a new objective: target Serena and Commander Wharton’s wedding.

All of this is building up to the revolution teased in The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 trailer. Who will come out on top is anyone’s guess, but so you don’t miss out, here’s when to expect the penultimate chapter.

The ninth episode of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 will land on Hulu on May 20, 2025, at 12am ET. This means those on PT got it a day earlier – May 19, 2025, at 9pm.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 has 10 episodes in total, meaning there will be one more after next week’s Episode 9. Although this is three episodes less than Seasons 2 and 3, it follows the same format as the rest of the Hulu show. You can compare them below:

The final episode title is as vague as can be, but Episode 9, ‘Execution’, at least gives us some kind of indication as to what might go down. The question is, will this be an execution of the High Commanders or of Handmaids? Hopefully the former.

If you’re curious about the elusive finale, co-showrunners Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang told ScreenRant that it will provide a satisfying conclusion to the story while also leaving a cliffhanger wide open for the upcoming spinoff series, The Testaments, to explore.

“I think fans should expect an honest, emotional, and authentic ending for June’s journey,” Tuchman said. “If they’ve stuck with her from the beginning, I think they’ll be very understanding about where she ends up.”
