A new 90s Action Heroes event is coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, bringing a ton of rewards inspired by the golden age of action movies.
Although we’re heading towards Black Ops 7, the Black Ops 6 era is showing no signs of slowing down. The Season 5 update is yet another big content drop in both multiplayer and Warzone, bringing new guns, a Battle Pass, and the final Zombies map.
On top of all that, it also comes with a new schedule of events to take part in. The first is 90s Action Heroes, so here’s everything we know about it so far.
When is 90s Action Heroes event in BO6 & Warzone?
There is currently no official date for the event, but we know it’s coming sometime in Season 5, which arrives on August 7.
The blog mentions that it’s dropping “in-season,” which means it’s likely not arriving right away, making August 14 the first possible date. However, it could be anywhere from then until the mid-season update, which is expected in early September.
Event explained
We don’t currently know what kind of event this one will be, but every BO6 event falls into one of three categories: Challenges, collection, or XP.
Challenge events, much like CoDtoons, give players a series of objectives to complete in order to earn each reward. Each one has a multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone variant.
The second type is collection events, where enemies drop tokens that need to be picked up to progress. Those rewards are tied to different milestones that you need to hit before they expire.
The final and most straightforward type simply asks players to earn XP by completing matches and getting kills.
Although 90s Action Heroes may mix things up with a brand-new format, we expect it to fall into one of these three categories. We’ll be sure to update this section as soon as we know more.
All rewards so far
There will be 13 rewards up for grabs during the 90s Action Heroes event, two of which have been revealed already.
The first is the Mister Peeks Field Upgrade for Zombies, which spawns in the lovable mascot from Liberty Falls. He distracts enemies and even attacks them while disco music plays in the background, making him a great way to escape large hordes.
The mastery reward this time around will be the Boxing Gloves, a brand-new melee weapon. While it takes multiple hits to kill an enemy, they’re much faster than most other options in the class with extra reach, ideal for beating down enemies on smaller maps.
We’ll be updating this page with a full breakdown of the rewards as soon as they’re revealed.
