Warzone Season 2 is the next major update coming to the CoD battle royale, bringing a new-look Rebirth Island and a host of new content.
Season 1 was a massive update for Warzone. Not only did it bring every Black Ops 7 multiplayer weapon to the game, but it also came with a brand-new Resurgence map, followed by a hotly anticipated Fallout crossover in the mid-season patch.
But that was just the beginning, as Raven Software has plenty in store for players in 2026. This all starts with Season 2, which is set to be yet another major patch.
Here’s everything we know about Warzone Season 2 so far, including when it arrives.
The Warzone Season 2 update is due to get underway on Thursday, February 5, 2026. This is when the Season 1 Battle Pass expires, and new seasons usually begin as soon as the previous one ends.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that it’s pushed back, but if there aren’t any delays, this should be the start date.
Winter Rebirth Island
One of the biggest additions coming in Season 2 is the refreshed Rebirth Island. The Resurgence map is getting a wintery makeover, which covers most of Alcatraz in snow to give it a completely different look and feel.
The update also adds a new POI next to the docks, based on a Guild facility from the Black Ops 7 campaign.
Blackout-inspired mode?
All the way back at CoD Next in late 2025, it was revealed that a new experience based on Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode is in the works. It was slated to drop in Spring 2026, and we haven’t heard anything about it since, but there’s a chance it could come in Season 2.
However, nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, so it’s possible that it will come later as part of the mid-season update or even sometime in Season 3.
Details surrounding the mode are pretty scarce right now, but we do know that it will take place on Avalon, the big map that many fans thought would replace Verdansk and was used for BO7’s Endgame mode.
Expected content
Although we’re still waiting for full details of what’s in store, there are certain additions that come with every new season. Here’s what to expect:

- New Battle Pass
- Weapon buffs and nerfs
