Season 2 Reloaded is the next big update coming to Warzone, and it’s set to introduce even more new weapons, a fresh competitive mode, and the long-awaited Blackout mode.
The Season 2 update was yet another huge content drop for Warzone, bringing the new EGRT-17 Assault Rifle and the usual weapon buffs and nerfs. It also came with Winter Rebirth, giving a snowy makeover to the iconic Resurgence map.
But as always, the first update is just the beginning, and the devs have even more planned for the mid-season patch.
So, here’s everything we know about Warzone Season 2 Reloaded so far.
When does Warzone Season 2 Reloaded start?
There is currently no official release date for Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, but it’s expected to be on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Big CoD updates always arrive on Thursdays, and this would place it at the exact halfway point of Season 2, which is scheduled to end on April 2.
However, it’s also possible that it could come a week later, on March 12.
New weapons
There are two new weapons coming as part of the update: the Voyak KT-3 and Swordfish A1.
The former is an Assault Rifle with “high damage and excellent handling, with slower fire rate and moderate to high recoil.” It’s said to have “characteristics that aren’t too dissimilar to the AK-27.”
Then, the latter is a new Marksman Rifle, described as “a deadly accurate weapon that fires rapid quad bursts.” It has the lowest recoil in the entire category.
Both will be available through in-game events that arrive after the update goes live.
New modes
Also coming in mid-season are two new modes. The first is Extreme Resurgence, which takes place on Haven’s Hollow and features double the number of squads, taking the lobby size up to 100 players to create even more chaotic matches.
Then, there’s Iron Gauntlet, a new competitive mode based on the popular Iron Trials mode, which increases everyone’s health and makes resources harder to find. This is just a beta version of the mode that will rotate regularly with Resurgence Ranked.
Blackout mode
The headline addition in Season 2 Reloaded is the long-awaited Blackout-inspired mode, which was confirmed all the way back at CoD Next before Black Ops 7 launched.
This “brand-new Battle Royale experience” will take place on the Avalon map — the setting of BO7’s Endgame mode. It isn’t a complete return for the BO4 battle royale, but it will take heavy inspiration from it.
While little is known about what to expect, from the brief teaser we’ve seen, it appears that wingsuits will once again play a key role.
