There are a few different places you can get a 12-foot skeleton of your own, but the one you're seeing in your neighborhood is most likely the Skelly from Home Depot. The home-improvement retailer has been selling these massive skeletons since all the way back in 2020, and popularity for them has only grown year after year.

The only catch? There are only so many skellies in stock at store locations at any given time. This year's version officially became available on August 4. It's early enough in the season that you should be able to get one for yourself before they go completely out of stock. I'm still seeing 10 of these bad boys available at my local Home Depot.

At $299, the giant skelly isn't exactly cheap, but it's pretty affordable compared to a lot of the larger Halloween decorations available. The whole thing weighs just over 59 pounds, and you'll need to be able to plug it in somewhere if you want the eyes to light up. Home Depot also has a 90-day return policy that applies to this skeleton if something goes wrong or you change your mind about your purchase.

I've wanted one of those giant skeletons for my own yard since I first started seeing them looming over the sidewalks years ago, but sadly I just don't have anywhere to store one during the other seasons. If you have the means, the space available, and the bone-clad will to get one of these for your own decorations this year, I highly recommend you do. But only because I selfishly want to see more giant skeletons everywhere I go.

Is it too early to put up Halloween decorations?
