To succeed in Peak, you need to get to the top of the mountain with your pals (or alone). However, thanks to some pesky Bees and Beehives, that’s not always as easy as it sounds.
There’s so much more to Peak than just climbing rocks and trees. Thanks to the multitude of items, like the Cursed Skulls or Magic Beans, you and your friends are able to explore all this world has to offer, adding more chaos or assistance in your climb.
Of course, there’s always something to explore, like spotting the adorable ever-moving Capybaras, or the Beehives dotted around. However, those bees aren’t really as nice as Capybaras, and without the right knowledge or preparation, they can easily take you out. So, here’s all you need to know about bees, beehives, and honeycomb in Peak.
Where to find Beehives
If you’re actively looking for Bees in Peak, for Honeycomb or just to see why everyone’s panicking when they see them, then you’ll need to find Beehives.
You’ll find them exclusively in the Tropics, the game’s second level after you complete the Shore.
Look around the trees on your adventures. In those will be the Beehives you’re looking for. Then, simply climb up and break them open.
How to get honeycomb
To get Honecomb in Peak, you need to break the Beehives in the Tropics.
As we said above, you just need to climb up, break them by throwing them to the ground, and they’ll drop Honeycomb.
Alternatively, as added in the v1.7 patch for Peak, you can throw items at fruits and beehives to knock them down from a relatively safe distance.
What does Honeycomb do?
Honeycomb is a fantastic item to get hold of, restoring your hunger and offering a huge stamina boost, which is ideal for your climbing expeditions.
Along with being a great item to eat, it also places you one step further when completing the Gourmand Badge achievement, which wants you to “Escape the island after cooking and eating a coconut half, a honeycomb, a yellow winterberry, and an egg.”
How to escape Bees
However, before you get excited over Honeycomb, you’ll need to remember what’s guarding those Beehives…Bees.
Bees in Peak are nasty. They’ll attack you as soon as you get too near the Beehives and will poison you. As such, we recommend you try to get out of the Beehives’ radius as quickly as possible.
When you break the Beehive or pick one up, the Bees will attack. They’ll keep flying at you and stinging you as long as you’re in their radius, so just run as fast as you can. Don’t climb. Simply run as far as you can and keep running, even if it’s in a large circle. They usually only attack for about 20 seconds.
