Who did Player 118 Nick vote for? Hidden Beast Games Season 2 detail sparks theory

MrBeast loves a cliffhanger, and Beast Games Season 2 Episode 9 delivers exactly that. Five players secure their spots in the final, but the identity of the sixth remains unknown until next week – although one hidden detail may just reveal who Player 118, Nick, ultimately votes for.

You see, the penultimate challenge of Beast Games Season 2 sees the remaining 10 players heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Through a course of six 30-minute rounds, they must vote for the contestants they want to get through to the final.

The four players who don’t win any of the rounds will be eliminated. Here’s the catch: each of them can use their share of the $1 million they bagged in the previous test to bribe one another.

In the sixth round, Player 118 (Nick) has the last vote, so he has the power to decide who makes it through to the finale. Unfortunately, the episode ends there, but there may be a clue in a behind-the-scenes clip. Warning: spoilers ahead!

Who did Nick vote for in Beast Games Season 2 Episode 9?

Although we won’t know for certain until Beast Games Season 2 Episode 10 drops on Prime Video, the leading theory is that Nick picks Player 195 (Brett), landing him two votes and therefore securing his place in the final six.

You see, so far, five players have been voted for to make it through to the last challenge. They include: Player 167 (Tyler), Player 99 (Hannah), Player 58 (Jack), Player 172 (Auguste), and Player 191 (Cory).

In the sixth round, Nick, Player 195 (Brett), Player 173 (Jim), and Player 152 (Monika) all have one vote each, while Player 38 (Kady) has zero. Nick is the only one left to vote, so unless he picks Kady, his vote will decide who makes it through.

Brett and Monika both seem like the strongest contenders, as they both gave Nick a significant bribe: Monika gave $10,000 (on top of $20,000 she gave to him in a previous round) while Brett gave $30,000.

Although his decision is the subject of much speculation, certain eagle-eyed fans think they’ve found the answer in the latest behind-the-scenes special, ‘Inside Look: Beast Games Goes International (Episode 9)’.

Notably, at the end of the 18-minute special is a preview of the finale, and in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it clip, MrBeast is shown walking onto a stage where the final six contestants are.

The picture isn’t clear and the lights are bright, but some think they can see Brett standing there on the stage. As said, this hasn’t been confirmed and it could be a trick of the light, but it’s enough to convince some viewers at home.

Beast Games fans highlight Season 2 finale preview

Over on Reddit, one wrote, “The BTS episode near the very end has a brief clip of Jimmy walking out towards the final six. It’s a bit blurry, but I think I know who got the last vote,” to which another commented, “Brett moves ahead.”

A third added, “For people wanting an answer to the cliffhanger… Brett moves on… for proof look at the bonus episode final 30 seconds where there’s a quick view of the finalists. And it’s Brett on the right.

“For more proof, Nick did mention in a live stream that he knew Monika sold the coin before they even got to the voting.”

One person who believes otherwise wrote, “I’m like 99% sure Nick voted Monica. Before the cliffhanger I replayed the last few frames way too many times and when he says the name his nose dips and pops back up in a way that really looks like ‘Mo-ni-ca’ mouth movement.”

However, another replied, “You can see Brett in the finale preview,” and a third added, “He was never voting Monika over his ‘bros,’ so I’m pretty confident it’s Brett.”

A fourth chimed in, “I’ve heard this before and I honestly hope it’s true, not just some rumor. That would be the most ideal outcome as a viewer. Monika already secured the bag, she doesn’t need to go through.

“Yeah Brett also got more than he should have, but he’s the most likable out of the ones remaining. Plus he gave away a lot of money to set things right and make sure he gets through.”

MrBeast promises less cliffhangers in Beast Games Season 3

Elsewhere on the Beast Games subreddit, the biggest talking point is the cliffhanger, with many saying it was unnecessary (to put it lightly). However, MrBeast promised in a recent Reddit AMA that there will be less cliffhangers in Season 3.

Among the many posts complaining about the Season 2 Episode 9 ending, one wrote, “Jimmy. These cliffhangers. They’re not fun. They’re the worst part of the season. You need to have more faith in your fanbase that they’ll return for the next episode.

“Cannot believe this game didn’t even conclude this episode. Huge thumbs down.” Another agreed, “This cliffhanger was the one I think was most uncalled for in my opinion.”

A third added, “Yeah we shouldn’t have cliffhangers for game results we invested a whole episode for. Like the last cliffhanger was fine because it introduced the game and it was just a spicy dramatic moment, but this was ridiculous.”

Many have pointed out that this episode needed it the least due to the fact that Season 2 Episode 10 is the finale, meaning viewers will be wanting to tune in to find out who wins the $5 million prize.

The good news is that MrBeast keeps tabs on what fans are saying and factors in their complaints when shaping the next chapter.

This is something viewers have highlighted, with one writing, “He has responded to this complaint on Reddit already and has said that in future seasons they will stop the excessive cliffhangers.”

A couple of weeks back, MrBeast did an AMA session for Beast Games, where he answered multiple questions about Season 3 now that we know it’s definitely going ahead at Prime Video.

As asked by one, “Any news about potentially reducing the number of cliffhangers? I can understand the first couple episodes but after the viewer is invested we get annoyed. I don’t know how the numbers behind the scenes look but it incentivizes me to wait for multiple episodes then binge watch.”

MrBeast replied, “Less cliffhangers next season!” He also responded to the backlash to Episode 7, which received just 3.5 stars out of 10 on IMDb due to the fact that it mostly involved the finalists having dinner with their family.

“How did you react when you saw that people didn’t like Episode 7 and that it’s the worst-rated episode of the entire show? Did you expect it or were you surprised?” asked one fan.

MrBeast explained, “I’ll be honest I wasn’t the most excited about it either but I leaned on others for that episode that I’m trying to have guide me for story telling. Lesson learned in Season 3, I’m going to trust my intuition more.”
