Destiny 2‘s major Edge of Fate update has finally arrived, bringing players new and old back into the thrilling MMO adventure. However, one character doesn’t sound how they used to – Ikora.
While Edge of Fate may have introduced a variety of new content, including new quests, locations, and gear, there are also some brand-new characters joining the fray. One of the newest is Lodi, a lovable Vanguard Scout who appears throughout the update.
Just like Ikora, many fans have been wondering who voices Lodi, and exactly why Ikora sounds so different. Don’t worry, it’s not a glitch, simply a changed voice actor. Here’s all you need to know.
Who is Ikora’s voice actor in The Edge of Fate?
If you’ve been playing through Destiny 2 and wondered why Ikora sounds a little different, it’s because she’s had a voice swap. In the current update, Ikora is being played by Debra Wilson, best known for voicing Grace Walker in Wolfenstein II, Winnifred in Date Everything, and Inquisitor Lodwyn in Avowed.
Previously, the character was voiced by Mara Junot, who has voiced Ikora since 2021. However, she was unable to record any new lines due to the SAG‑AFTRA video game strike, which lasted from late 2023 into early 2024.
If you’re a fan of Junot’s version, worry not, for Bungie has confirmed that this change is temporary. Now the strike is resolved, the studio is re-recording Ikora’s lines (and others affected) with the original voice actors.
There’s no ETA yet, but a patch is in the works. For now, subtitles are turned on by default to help players follow the dialogue.
Who voices Lodi in Destiny 2?
The brand new Vanguard Scout was introduced in The Final Shape, but has some expanded scenes in Edge of Fate, prompting many to wonder who voices him.
Destiny 2’s Lodi is voiced by Brian Villalobos, an actor known for his work as Clavell in Pokemon Horizons and various TV shows like Love & Death, in which he played Sid O’Hara, and films like Accidental Texan, in which he played Simon.
