January just got a whole lot brighter, as it’s time for Single’s Inferno Season 5. Now that the trailer and poster have arrived, we’ve put together details on all the cast members who are either confirmed or rumored.
Single’s Inferno has emerged as one of Netflix’s most popular dating shows worldwide, in part due to the cultural context. As opposed to fast-paced western shows like Love Island, viewers praise the more slow-burn, authentic connections that form.
That being said, Season 4 featured plenty of romance, drama, and… swing incidents. Four new couples were formed in the finale, and now it’s the turn of a whole host of new singletons to head to Inferno island.
Although the full Season 5 cast is yet to be revealed, the new trailer and poster have confirmed several participants, and sparked rumors about additional contestants.
Single’s Inferno Season 5 cast makes major change
Fans of the Netflix series complained that there were too many well-known faces in Single’s Inferno Season 4, and the creators promised they’ve fixed this with a more balanced group of contestants – although there are still a few big names amongst them.
While casting for Season 5, producer Kim Jae-won said (via Star News), “Last year, I felt the limitations of social media casting, so I took to the streets. These days, the economy is so bad that there’s no one on the streets.
“I went to places that are known to attract a lot of young people, but there was no one there on a Friday. We changed our strategy and made flyers the old-fashioned way. We put them up in gyms, hair salons, and restaurants that the cast members who fit our mold would likely visit, and waited.”
Additionally, the producers have revealed that Single’s Inferno Season 5 will have the biggest number of cast members yet, with some strong female personalities. Below, you can find the confirmed and rumored contestants so far:
Kim Min-ji
Rather than a social media influencer or model, Kim Min-ji is best known as a track and field athlete. She graduated from Chungbuk Sports High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Changwon National University.
Her specialties are the 400 meters and 400 meters with hurdles, and she’s won multiple competitions over the years, starting in 2014 when she bagged first place in the 400m hurdles at the 43rd Spring National Middle and High School Athletics Championships.
This isn’t Min-ji’s first time on TV, having previously appeared in competition shows such as Mystery Music Show Mask Singer and King of Survival: Tribal War.

Lim Sung-jin
Another well-known athlete in the Single’s Inferno Season 5 cast is Lim Sung-jin, a 27-year-old indoor volleyball player who serves as an outside hitter for Uijeongbu KB Insurance Stars in the V-League. His athletic career continued to grow when he attended Sungkyunkwan University in 2018.
Like his co-star, Sung-jin has appeared on TV before, having joined the competition show Spike War as a one-day playing coach to support a team’s first victory.

Kim Go-eun
Not to be confused with the actress of the same name, Kim Go-eun is a model who’s best known for winning runner-up at the Miss Korea beauty pageant in 2022. According to Chosunbiz, she graduated from Inha University and is the daughter of former national soccer player Kim Hyun-soo.
Last year, rumors circulated that Go-eun and singer G-Dragon were dating after they were spotted at a PSG match in Japan, but G-Dragon’s representatives shut down the claims, saying they “are not in a romantic relationship. The two are not lovers but rather close brother-sister friends.”

Mina Sue Choi
One Single’s Inferno Season 5 cast member who is yet to be confirmed is Mina Sue Choi, but eagle-eyed fans recognized her in the new poster. Sue Choi is a model who became the first Korean to win Miss Earth in 2022, and the first to win one of the Big Four beauty pageants.
Born in Australia, the 26-year-old has lived in South Korea, Canada, the US, and China, and attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she majored in communication studies.
Sue Choi’s experience led her to appear on the competition series Battle for Tenancy: Penthouse, before serving as a host at the 2024 Miss Korea pageant.

Kim Ji-han
Among the rumored cast is Kim Ji-han, and if he’s confirmed, he’ll be the second volleyball player to join. The 26-year-old currently plays as an outside hitter for Seoul Woori Card Woori Won in the Korean V-League.

Danny Koo
Another rumored Season 5 cast member is Danny Koo, a violinist and singer who was admitted to the New England Conservatory of Music, and has taught students at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, the Royal Academy of Music, and Taylor Academy for Young Artists.
Koo later joined the Ensemble DITTO, a popular South Korean music group, and gained further popularity when he appeared on the audition show SuperBand 2.

Song Eun-woo
According to Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, Song Eun-woo is also expected to join Single’s Inferno Season 5, although her role is currently unconfirmed.
