Akira Montague, the woman who won $1.75 million because her marriage was destroyed by TikToker Brenay Kennard, has revealed that people have ‘harassed’ her and her children over it.

Back in 2024, TikToker Brenay Kennard, who runs the LifeOfBrenay channel and has almost 3 million followers, was sued by Akira Montague for destroying her marriage. Kennard had an affair with Montague’s husband, Timothy, and boasted about the relationship on her social media channels.

Fast forward to November 10, 2025, and Montague was awarded $1.75 million in damages by a judge in North Carolina. North Carolina is one of the few states that still allows people to sue for alienation of affection and criminal conversation.

Since then, Akira has spoken out about the long-running case, revealing that people at her work cleared out her desk because of the payout.

“The people at my job, they kind of got rid of some of my stuff because they thought I wasn’t coming back because of how much that I was awarded,” she told ABC 11 in Durham, North Carolina.

Montague revealed that she has returned to work and plans to use the money to buy a house for her and her children. However, they have been subject to harassment over the case.

“It was horrible. I don’t like going out in public with my kids because I get stopped in the store. I can’t have fun with my kids; to this day, people harass me and them. It’s hard,” she added.

The mother hit out at Kennard’s lack of remorse over breaking up her marriage. “Like she said, I’m just bitter because she took my husband. Those were her words. That’s what she told the jury. That’s the woman that is not accountable for her actions and does not show any remorse for breaking up a family,” she continued.

Kennard has since returned to making content following the court case, with comments turned off on TikTok.

However, she does allow comments on Instagram, and those have been mixed so far, with some supporting her returning to uploading.
