Wuchang Fallen Feathers has finally been released, and thousands of players have dived into the tricky soulslike, but not everyone is happy.

Soulslikes are often met with contention. Some players find it too hard, others too easy, and a few just despise the mechanics or the constant death and unforgiving nature. However, despite having a high player count and receiving good review scores, it seems Wuchang is being review bombed.

In fact, thousands of players are writing negative reviews on the game’s Steam Page.

Wuchang Fallen Feathers review bombed over performance

This is all due to the game’s performance. Tons of players have descended to the Steam reviews to share how “the Game has some massive performance issues.” One user wrote: “Wuchang’s performance is abysmal. If I can play Wukong at max settings, there’s no reason this game should both LOOK like this and PLAY like this.”

Many others have been echoing the same sentiment, writing: “Horrible performance. Another UE5 stutter fest L. Automatic Refund.” Another said: “40-50 fps with 4090 and constantly stutters. Why would you release the game in this state? Just delay and optimize it.”

Despite this, there are still over 90,000 players battling bosses in Wuchang, proving that not all consider it “unplayable.” When it was released, Wuchang Fallen Feathers reached a peak of 114,132 players, making it the highest concurrent player count for any Soulslike not made by FromSoftware.

Interestingly, it’s sparked a debate among players, with some arguing that their game runs just fine, asking the negative reviewers to update their graphics drivers or check the game’s recommended specs.

However, at the time of writing, according to SteamDB, just 18% of the game’s user reviews are positive, despite our own review calling it the must-play Soulslike of 2025.

Currently, Leenzee Games has yet to announce any upcoming optimization patches or when the game’s performance issues will be fixed.
