Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has a big concern about the longevity of Overwatch Rush, even though he is excited by the brand-new game.
On February 24, Blizzard revealed that they had a brand-new Overwatch experience in the pipeline for the fans – Overwatch Rush. While it might just sound like a new game mode, it is actually a brand-new mobile game.
As well as being a mobile game, Overwatch Rush differs from the normal Overwatch titles by having a top-down look, rather than setting players up in third-person. Blizzard acknowledged that it’s in the early stages of development, and they have “a lot of work to do.”
The reveal has already split opinions within the Overwatch community, including with xQc, as the Canadian streamer has one big concern about the new game.
xQc worried about Overwatch Rush’s replayability
During his February 24 stream, the former Overwatch League star watched the reveal of Overwatch Rush and noted that it looked like a “decent” time, but questioned just how long people would play it for.
“Chat, this actually looks kind of decent, though. Chat, I don’t think this looks bad,” xQc said.
“Chat, this looks fun, but I just don’t know how long it will last for, you know what I mean? Like, I don’t know how replayable it is. It doesn’t look bad to play for a few games, but I don’t know if it’s very replayable. You know what I mean?”
Lengyel also pointed out that he is “all for” Overwatch “removing heroes” too, saying he couldn’t see Brigitte in the gameplay.
“They remade it without all the bad heroes, they’re going back to the old school,” he joked. “Brigitte ruined the game, she cooked the game.”
As Blizzard notes, the game is early on in it’s development, and a full roster of playable characters won’t be available for some time. So, we’ll just have to wait and see on that front.
