Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has fired back at Twitch CEO Dan Clancy after being left off his “streamer Mount Rushmore” picks, insisting he pioneered several modern streaming trends.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy appeared on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 stream to congratulate him on reaching one million subscribers. During the conversation, Cenat asked Clancy who would be on his “streamer Mount Rushmore.” Clancy named Kai, Ninja, Pokimane, and CohCarnage, briefly mentioning iShowSpeed before replacing him with Coh.
The moment quickly spread online, as Clancy’s picks left out a number of influential figures in Twitch history. Streamers like Reckful and Sodapoppin are often credited with shaping the early culture of the platform and pioneering IRL and full-camera content that later became staples of streaming.
xQc responds to Twitch CEO’s Rushmore picks
On his own Kick stream, xQc pushed back on Clancy’s list, arguing that the groundwork for modern streaming was built long before the names mentioned.
“Without Reckful [and the] Sodapoppin era… the reality is that the whole timeline is backed up further,” he said. “You don’t get IRL, the concept of full cam like this, right? What was early game pushed by the names I just named. Without that, we’re in the f***ing cave ages.”
He then added: “I crawled. I walked. I f***ing… Bro, I did anything so anybody could run. I didn’t just crawl. I crawled and walked so people could run.”
The clip has been shared widely, sparking debate among fans about which streamers truly deserve a spot on Twitch’s “Mount Rushmore.” While Clancy highlighted present-day stars, xQc’s comments pointed to the lasting influence of past trailblazers who helped define streaming as it exists today.
