Streaming star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel isn’t sure IShowSpeed will leave YouTube despite the streamer making his return to Twitch.
Back in late 2021, IShowSpeed was banned from Twitch following a sexist outburst while streaming with Adin Ross. He quickly made the move to YouTube, and while his Twitch channel was unbanned in October 2023, Speed has stuck with the Google-owned platform.
There have been a number of requests from fans and other streamers for him to go back to Twitch, but he has resisted those until now.
Speed has announced that he will start using Twitch again as a part of a multi-streaming setup. Yet, xQc doubts he’ll ever make the move permanently.
xQc believes IShowSpeed won’t ever leave YouTube
“Chat, Imma say it how it is, but he’ll never get out of YouTube,” the Canadian said after seeing Speed’s announcement about multi-streaming.
“He has cemented himself and he has his own discoverability system on YouTube. Chat, Speed turned YouTube’s discover system back on it’s head, as in, YouTube’s discoverability for streams is terrible but now, since his stream is so big, now his shit actually gets pushed to the top, right, because its the only thing.
“So now, he makes his own discoverability through his own cycle. Like, you don’t get that anywhere else. He broke the system, actually.”
Multi-streaming has increasingly become a popular option for content creators, especially for bigger streamers.
It can be tricky to navigate broadcasting on multiple sites with different rules, but if Speed is determined to make it work, then it’ll be a success.
