If you want to “tap it in” on the green after Happy Gilmore 2, you can buy a replica of his hockey stick putter – but be warned, it’s expensive and it’ll sell out quickly.
Ever since the first movie in 1996, countless aspiring golfers have attempted to take a run-up and drive the ball. This year, Adam Sandler’s swing could make a comeback with Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited follow-up to his comedy classic.
The sequel, streaming on Netflix now, follows Happy as he returns to the course, hoping to make enough money to send his daughter to ballet school abroad.
That means he’s back on the green with his hockey stick putter – and you can buy one for yourself.
How to buy the Happy Gilmore hockey stick putter
Odyssey has produced a replica of Happy Gilmore’s hockey stick putter. It costs $500 and customers are set to receive it in October this year.
Unfortunately, it’s already out of stock from multiple suppliers, so if you haven’t bought one already, you may just need to register your interest for a restock. It’s still available via Hot Golf in the UK, otherwise you may be out of luck for now.
“Forget finesse. This hockey stick-inspired putter is all about attitude and chaos. Just like Happy himself, it’s made for golfers who like to grip it and rip it – especially on the green,” the product description reads.
“Whether you’re reenacting your favourite scenes or just stealing the show at your local course, this putter guarantees smiles with every swing.”
The putter is 44 inches long with a stainless steel head and a urethane insert (if that means nothing to you, in short, it’s a sturdy, well-made club).
“It even comes with a custom tube sock headcover – because if you know, you know,” it adds.
However, there is one important thing you should know: it isn’t legal for tournament play, so don’t expect to walk into a golf open with it. “It’s made purely for fun, entertainment, collectors, or friendly rounds where rules are optional. Golf purists beware,” the website reads.
