YouTuber loses millions of dollars on videos for using Fetty Wap song as his intro

YouTuber Brawadis says he’s lost millions of dollars due to using a copyrighted song from American rapper Fetty Wap as his intro on past videos.

Brawadis is a popular YouTuber with over six million subscribers who’s been making content on the platform since 2015. He’s best known for videos trying different kinds of fast food, VIP experiences, and similar content, as well as pulling pranks on his friends and family.

Up until the last several years, he used a particular intro that showed his name in bold font flying around the screen while Fetty Wap’s ‘679’ played in the background.

While that particular intro has since been retired, some of his biggest videos were created during the time he used it — and it cost him big-time.

Brawadis loses millions of dollars over Fetty Wap intro

In a July 2025 live stream, Brawadis tearfully explained to his fans that he’d been paying millions of dollars to Fetty Wap’s record label, all because he once used the song ‘679’ in his intros.

“I gave that label millions and millions of dollars, bro,” he said. “My house was $3.5 mil. I could have bought three of these things, bro. It’s crazy.”

He then showed viewers a look at his YouTube metrics, showing that some of his most-viewed uploads had been copyrighted and demonetized. Upon watching these videos, only some of them used his old intro.

“I didn’t get paid for when Devin Booker came to my house,” he continued. “Look at all these. Copyright, copyright. Look at the views — five mil, six mil… all of my most-viewed [videos], I don’t make a single f**king penny off of, because of that intro.”

Brawadis went on to show that some of his popular uploads that hadn’t been copystriked were cashing in for tens of thousands of dollars, with one earning $68K. All told, it’s not hard to believe that he’s lost out on eye-watering amounts of cheddar thanks to his old intro.

However, some users aren’t convinced that Brawadis is just now finding out about this financial loss, with one writing on Reddit: “Why is this always presented as if they weren’t aware of copyright? Like bro, you are a ‘professional’ content creator, at the VERY least you should be aware of the laws that govern your chosen profession.”

“So this guy got to the level where NBA all stars were coming to his house and he still never thought to get the rights to the song that plays in every single one of his videos? Skill issue,” another joked.
