Popular YouTuber Michael David Booth, better known online as Mr Crafty Pants, was arrested on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Prospect, Kentucky, charged with several counts of possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
According to arrest records obtained by WDRB, Booth’s account on the messaging app Kik was flagged after suspicious activity was reported to authorities.
Investigators said a subpoena traced the account to Booth’s home IP address and revealed that multiple explicit files were shared between August 5 and August 7, 2025.
The police report states Booth allegedly possessed six explicit images, three depicting children under 12 and three showing minors aged 12 to 17. Some of the files were reportedly distributed more than 10 times for the younger age group and more than 15 times for the older minors.
During his arrest, a Halloween sign in Booth’s front yard read, “I smell children,” which had apparently drawn concern from neighbours.
Booth appeared in Jefferson County District Court on October 23, 2025, where he pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $100,000, with conditions that prohibit internet access and contact with minors.
Investigators have not disclosed whether additional charges or victims are involved.
Booth’s Mr Crafty Pants YouTube channel, which appears to have been removed, focused on DIY craft tutorials and had accrued over 500,000 subscribers as of October 2025, since being created in November 2019.
