A YouTuber who went viral after claiming he was too “ugly” to find a partner has resurfaced online with another update to his life.
Back in 2018, Swedish YouTuber David Martinsson uploaded a video called ‘Being Ugly: My Experience’. In the 24-minute-long video, which has gotten almost 30 million views, the Swede discussed his relationships with other people, claiming that his looks would prevent him from ever finding love.
“My entire life I have been treated quite bad. I feel really alone, and I feel like I was going to search YouTube for people with the same issue as me, and that is being really unattractive,” Martinsson said.
The video took off, with plenty of viewers trying to help the Swede find love and showing him support across social media. Martinsson has since been able to find a partner, even starting a family too.

His partner, Juli Martinsson, has uploaded sporadic updates about their relationship to TikTok, and returned on February 22 with another.
“POV: Flirted too hard and now I’m carrying a stroller in the middle of the Swedish winter,” Juli said, showing her and David walking through the snow with their child. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world tho.”
It was the first time she’d posted a photo of him since 2024, and fans of the YouTuber celebrated seeing his face again.
“The man, the myth, the legend himself: David Martinsson,” one commented. “THEY HAVE A KID NOW??????” another said.
“I’ve never been more happy for strangers online. I saw this meme when I was like 10 I’ll be 20 in November,” another viewer replied. “Still to this day the best love story to ever be known,” added another.
The pair got together after Juli posted: “I actually think you’re kinda cute tbh. I mean it,” on the YouTube video back in 2023. Her comment has since been pinned on the video, with viewers returning every so often to celebrate their love story, especially after their marriage back in 2024.
